He strikes me as the sort who would honour a contract. He's also been one of our few shining lights in a s*** season.
That said, there are areas we need to strengthen but where we're hampered by quotas and perhaps cash. To strengthen these areas might actually more than counterbalance the loss of TM, good though he's been.
It might actually be a case of him being able to leave to mutual advantage on good terms between player, club and fans.
Regardless, I'd be delighted if he stayed as he's proved he's not the kind to give in to adversity.

Not exactly how I read it.

Trent has offers and Leeds are letting him look at them on compassionate grounds but he hasn't actually said he wants to leave.

Tbh as I said on the marquee thread he has been good but not exactly what I was expecting. Both his marquee and quota spot could be put to use elsewhere so if he wants to go we need to collect a fee and move on.

Merrin will go. Theres no way he will not get a good contract in Nrl. Does this mean we waive a fee also?? We should get serious compensation. At least he has to make his mind up quickly

Agreed. It should be part of the negotiations without a doubt.

We need a quality prop alongside Ava or a quality hooker IMO.

If we could get one of those I’d actually not be too upset at the loss of Merrin. I think it’d rebalance the team a bit as we’ve a ton of back rowers
