A pal of mine who knocks about with some of the Cas player's. He's not a bull$hitter normally. Apparently 250k offer for him.

Difficult to turn down for Cas if that's true. However, he's a Cas lad so i'd expect him to stay there.

Fits with the caliber of UK based player we should be targetting and offering money for.


Cant see Cas going for it but 250k would give them plenty of cash to spend on a few other bodies.

The lad in question has a business that do a bit of sponsorship with Cas. He’s a big fan of theirs, and knows a lot of the players very well.
Reckons he was out having a coffee with Paul McShane the other day, and Macca told him Leeds have made an offer of that amount for Watts, and Cas are considering it.

Also tells me that they were in talks with Cam Smith, and really wanted him to replace Mike McMeekan who is Warrington bound. Apparently Daniel had tried twisting his arm, and they made him an offer, but GH blew them out of the water with his, and that was that.

Could all just be Chinese Whispers, but the same lad told me about the Gale deal, and how much Leeds had paid before it was announced, and he was on the button.

Watts is a very good forward. But £250k for a 30 year old does appear expensive in the current market. He may be knackered in 3 years time. I hope I’m wrong. However A quality addition in the medium term if this rumour is true. Good to see a British addition rather than relying on an Australasian import.
