That squad, playing out current style, isn't going to challenge for trophies. Far too many of them wouldn't get close to a place in the Wigan, Sts, Cats squads.

Looking at Frosties squad list for 2024 in theory the 3 gaps all have the potential to be marquee if we are willing to spend the money. I get marquee spots may also be used for club trained players at 50k to increase overall cap space as well. Of squad players listed nobody automatically stands out as obviously marquee and that's the difference with the top teams who clearly have 2 or 3 X factor players!

For all the talk of being a young squad how many of the 'first choice 17' can we still actually described as being young?

What is the ruling on club trained marquee players? I'd assumed that for it to be invoked you would have to be paying them in excess of 150k. So by my understanding is that you couldn't pay Newman 100k and only count him as 50k on the cap. If that's the case I don't think we have a club trained player who I would say is in the 150k category yet.

I think 8 out of 17 (bearing in mind theres not a full 17) are 25 or younger, Id say that’s a young first 17.

I've never watched either too much so can't say whether they are good enough but could Toby King and Nu Brown be possible?

Warrington deemed Toby King not good enough for two seasons, so you would have thought a play could be made for him. Apparently Nu Brown is available, wasn't he a candidate for moving from Fev to Leeds and is good mates with Rhyse Martin?

Toby King is a great player but I can’t see Warrington letting him leave again, they need a centre.

Nu Brown is an OK player but not sure he’s worth a quota spot, having said that it would not surprise me at all if we signed him, can play halfback or hooker.

King frees up a lot of cap money for warrington due to the new rules apparently.
