| Frawley watch: 2 mins in and he puts a dreadfully weighted kick in that goes dead easily, team mates all look a bit bemused.
9 mins in gives away a relieving pen for a high shot.
20 mins involved in a tackle that forces a dropped ball leading to a Canberra try.
30 mins. Misses a straight 1 on 1 on Gagai 5 metres out who goes over, only to fumble on grounding.
32 mins Forces a drop out with a short grubber into the ingoal

| Credit where due, far from a fan of the signing, but think he's had a pretty good half
The early kick and tackle miss on Gagai the 2 negative plays
But been pretty good otherwise
Front on defence seems really solid, struggles in space when players are running across him, but we'r talking origin level athletes here so hopefully mitagated a bit in SL

| Yeah a mixed bag first half. Not watching the second half so let us know how he gets on Matt.

| Good performance by Frawley and in the playoffs in the best league in the world. I think he will be more than decent for us. Good organiser, good kicking game, good passer, decent in defence. Not xfactor by any stretch but paired with a good running half he will do well. Looks to have a very good attitude

| We must still have cap space for a couple of big signings.
Miller and Frawley probably replace the salaries of Sezer and Austin.
Goudemand salary replaces Walters.
McDonald should be replaced with like for like in terms of salary.
We've also lost Leeming and Tetevano who will both have been on a good whack.
Must get a quality 7 and prop.

Yes. Did not look out of place at that level at all. Nice to see him score another try. Think that's 9 in 18 NSW and NRL games this year, which really calls into the question the views of those who have claimed he is a passive, do nothing half back.

The way I interpreted it is he is saying it’s not as easy as fans think it is. Fans want us to just go sign the best players when it’s not as simple as that.

| He scored from 5 yards out due to a massive hole in the defence. He took it, and good on him, but running isn't his strength. He kept the ball moving out wide quite nicely, and didn't hide, which is a plus compared to our incumbents this year.

It's not, though we have had a long time to be able to know what we've got to play with in terms of players coming off contract and a large chunk of cap free to identify the best players that are on the market/possibilities. Should we though also reasonably expect that the likes of saints, Wigan and Catalan will get the best of those available for some time to come and that we are not a 'top' players first choice? Is that also part of the problem?

Yeah the teams at the top will always get the player if the same money if been offered, which means we would probably have to offer more money, which is what got us in this squad management mess in the first place.
It does seem like we have left it late, but with Smith saying they speak about recruitment and retention every day, I imagine what ever plan they had for next year hasn’t gone well.
Either the targets don’t want to come to us, or the players we hoped to retain are now leaving and we’ve got spaces to fill.
We don’t know the facts about the recruitment and retention

| I still assume that at least one new signing will be from a SL club so won't be announced until the end of the season.

He showed what we are missing, calm, organised the team and made good decisions, for all the OaTT stick hes got from some Leeds fans he could turn out to be an astute signing

There are no massive holes in the NRL play offs. He saw a half gap, backed his strength and scored a good try. If he gets a dozen of them in SL we'll all (well most) be pleased. On another a note I'm more and more of convinced that we need a hooker to give our half backs the best chance to make a difference. O'Connor does tonnes of work but it's asking to much of him to be the senior nine at present. I know this means robbing Peter to pay Paul in other positions, but if we sort the spine everybody else is going to look a lot better

| Arthur hat's nonsense. It was a massive hole. He scored and well done. I'll try to be less negative about him, but lets not pretend that was Lewis-esque.

It wasn’t his try that impressed me it was his organisation, which is something we have been lacking

I'm not pretending. He went over the line with two players attached to him. That’s not indicative of a gaping hole in the defensive line, is it? If you want to see examples of gaps in defence I refer you to yesterday's game. There are plenty to go at. Anyway, agree with the point Chris made - his all round game was the most pleasing aspect today.

| Agreed, it wasnt a gaping hole, he created some space with a dummy then rode a challenge to get the ball down.
Like already mentioned, iv been critical of the signing, but will always give credit where its due, he played well today for the most part, and kept a cool head in a high intensity NRL playoff game.

| Frawley's try is about 3.20 into the vid on YouTube. To quote Andrew Johns, "that was too easy". You'd be disappointed if that was scored against you at whatever level, and it was due to lazy inside defence. I quite liked the rest of his game to be fair, as I've already said.
