Has any club in SL got 100% vaccination take up? Must be a lot of furious clubs in the competition.
Yes, there are clubs with 100% vaccination rates. The competition as a whole has 81% uptake, and we know 2 clubs are under 50% which means that they make up the vast majority of the remaining 19%. So logically the vast majority of clubs are at 100% or close to it.

Players are entitled to choose, personally i dont understand why people wont get the vaccine, but its everybodys individual choice. It doesnt 100% guarantee you dont catch covid.
And the club are entitled to choose to terminate contracts on the very same grounds then. Though shockingly those against the vaccine who peddle the “individual choice” line don’t seem to appreciate the rights of clubs/ organisations/ companies to make the same choices they are making. Just look at the attempts to enforce vaccine take up in the NHS. As others have explained, yes it doesn’t mean you can’t catch it, but it means you are far less likely to suffer severe symptoms, and selfishly from a club perspective, face different rules regarding close contacts if you are or aren’t vaccinated.

If i was a coach or administrator i would try to encourage them to have the vaccine but it doesnt mean they are uneducated dip shits and i wouldnt be furious in any way.
Peddling stupid, easily disprovable information does make you uneducated, it’s … by definition. If I put 1+1=3 on an maths exam and fail, it doesn’t make me less uneducated if I insisted that the maths conspiracy is suppressing the truth and 1+1 definitely equals 3. The only difference with vaccine “science” is that they never get to the point of studying and taking the exam in the first place.

As for contract negotiations there was a market for Zak Hardaker after all he had done and been banned for. Trust me on this folks, Trueman wont be blackballed for not putting a needle in his arm.
It will from the NRL though which is what I believe he was pushing for last year. Sadly talent is still too thin on the ground in this country for clubs to pick and choose, bar a handful of “big” clubs (even then, they can get selective about their principles when it suits them - look at Hetheringtons comments on Todd Carney/ Robert Lui). If my club (Saints) came out and announced a double vaccinated only policy for recruitment I would categorically support that, even if it means on missing out on some talent, but I appreciate few clubs are in the position we are in to make such an announcement…
