All true, Sir G. But what was the alternative this year? Surely not stick with Myler, Austin, Sezer and Leeming. The trick is doing it better in the short term and developing our own talent in the medium term. Until the latter happens every recruitment cycle will be a tough one.

Schneider from Kr. Given he’s done some time over here he’s also less of a gamble than some of the other kids we’d maybe end up looking at from the lower grades. I’d have probably also taken Cade Cust.

Frawley might turn out ok as I’ve said previously, but unfortunately ‘Ok’ is where I think his ceiling is.

Agree we need to develop from the Academy as a key part for long term success.

In terms of those 4 for the spine, Leeming clearly did not fit with the Rohan plan, whether O’Connor can become a better passer and decision maker remains to be seen or will we sign another hooker.

Given the club has known it would lose/exit Austin and Sezer all year and think we need a senior forward and now another centre, I can’t see we will sign a 7 of quality and so Frawley and Myler look the likely new 6 and 7 which does not fill me with joy.

Hope I’m wrong but given we have signed Millar at 1, I think we won’t have cap for a classy 7 or even another plodder.

I actually think if it ends up being Miller, Myler and Frawley I’d rather keep myler at 1 and try Miller in the halves.

Leeds have huge amounts of cap to play with, including marquee spots. Cap space won't be the problem, finding and negotiating with players to come might be.

Dunemann wasn't an nrl world beater but did a job for us so give the bloke a chance. We need a half back and looks like we've got one.

Hope you are right but we also need a replacement for McDonald and Tetevano.

As ever the cap is a mystery but it looks to me
Like millar, Frawley for Austin and Sezer and then we need a centre and senior forward in. If we don’t sign a centre or another forward we should have enough for a good 7 but will look short elsewhere.

I cannot see that the cap space is an issue unless we are not willing to invest the money.
Tetevano and Sezer probably top earners and Marquee and both going. Then there is an extra marquee spot this year. I can't believe we would be paying Miller and Frawley same money as the 2 above. Austin bound to have been in top 5 earners as well.
We then have Fusitua who if he resigns should be at reduced terms. The Macdonald money will be available us Leeming. Either Bentley will go or resign on reduced terms plus then Walters wages.
I cannot see that improved contracts for homegrown players has used up too much as ours are not at that higher level. Longer term the key is develop your own and use marquee spots for them. For example Welsby only costs 50k on cap for Saints if marquee.
As has previously been said I think our issues are around finding and negotiating with players rather than cap.
Personally I would sign less but go for the highest quality available in the key positions.

Theres a ton of cap space being freed up that the club have known all year could be in their hands to invest in the right players for next season. They need to be getting this right as all the cards are in their favour from that point of view.

The cap space is obviously there, the ambition and knowledge to use it properly are massively in question.

The thought of Myler and Frawley as our starting halfs is that bad i cant believe that it will be the case, if they are, then its an absolute disgrace and the club shouldl rightfully receive the backlash.
