Mik and Tommy as 2 of the first 4 meaning that we would need for to replace Prior & Tet should they leave.
I can't see either Tet or Prior leaving while still contracted. If we strengthen our front row I reckon we will see Prior form improve if we can lighten his work load.Tet has been a disappointment looks more a backrower than a prop.

I can't see Mulhern or Sangare wanting to be 6th choice prop. They'd both want to be 4th choice prop at worst!

Well I suppose it's up to them to make sure they are not.Im a fan of resting props if you have sufficient cover. If you have six decent ones you can rotate more this stopping player burn out.

Agreed, if you can rest Oledzki / Prior once every 4-5 weeks, it would definitely benefit them.

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

A 6 prop rotation is a must for a team that wants to press for regular honours. I don't expect that they are all world beaters, but you need big consistent bodies who can each play in 20 minute spells or perhaps longer. You can't have too much drop off from your starters to the 5 & 6. We don't need 6 Alex Walmsleys, we do need at least 3 more (2 if Sangare comes) who are better than what we have outside Mik.

A rotation of Oledzki, Holroyd, New Prop, New Prop, Sangare, Mulhern, all by the end of next season latest would be fine. If we could shed Prior or Tet at the end of this year it means that we can accelerate the plan to bring in new props.

This must be addressed appropriately before we look to strengthen in any other position.

Prop is a position that is best to be slightly overloaded within a squad with the workload they face. It was obvious from the outset this year we were greatly under resourced and it was a big oversight.

I agree. A lot of this hangs on the speculation around Prior calling it quits a year early. If he is, we'll probably have a bit of cash to throw at an NRL prop who could really make a difference. If not the French lad will add badly needed size, and a Mulhern type, badly needed depth to what has been a chronically undermanned position. We could also use the quota spot left by Bodene's expected departure to try and recruit a Queenslsnd Cup/NRL player with a bit of sparkle about them. Some pace/power in the left centre could transform the three quarters.

Holroyd's injury preseason didn't help but it showed that you need 5 props bare minimum and that doesn't include a pumped up second rower.

Our lack of big boppers wasn't an oversight, it was a deliberate decision. We could have built up our stock of big guys over the past two years but chose not to, seemingly driven by the obsession with middles and using backrowers to make up the numbers.

Warrington have now added Paul Vaughan to their pack for next year - that's 4 out-and-out props signed in a few months. If you want them you can get them. I'm not saying we should have targeted any of the Wire signings, but it just shows they are out there.

I like what Warrington have done personally. Casiano and Paul Vaughn are very good additions.

Jon Wilkin was talking about the Leeds pack the other week, and i know he can be a bell at times but he was spot on about our pack, its a jack of all trades pack, there's nobody with any real punch apart from Mik. Too lightweight. This needs urgent addressing.
