Sounds like most the players that come to super league. There's a reason they don't stay in the NRL.

You'd hope he was number 1 target but he signed a long deal with Salford to ensure they got a decent fee if they were to sell him. Cant see us stumping up the money. He would also want an NRL get out clause, which i wouldnt really want our players to have, doesnt show much commitment to the club.

We might be, let's say we were, Salford wouldn't want this public knowledge at this stage of the season, it would be the type of signing that would be announced after the season finishes.

I also wouldn't want to be paying big money for a player who would want an NRL get out clause.

Leeds aren't going to publicly come out and say - we're after Brodie Croft, its just not how the club works.

Disagree, all except Field and Hoy had at least some NRL pedigree. There is the odd gem, like field or Garbutt, but most at least have some NRL experience.

That’s not to say there aren’t good players in the NSW/QLD cup. But lots of the best/youngest etc still have NRL hopes or are in NRL systems.

Yes.
We need some pace in the halves with attacking flair not a plodder like Frawley who makes Sezer look like Ivan Cleary.

We aren't in a position where not stumping up the cash is an option. We've haven't been paying Leeming's wages for the best part of the season. We"ll have saved some wages on Austin also. That should be right back in the kitty for players we desperately need.

Yes, but you can still put that saved money in terms of wage expenditure towards a transfer fee. Personally I don't think GH will be stingy in this regard, he has a long established record of paying fees if the occasion demands.
