I was gutted when Edwards back flipped on his deal to coach your lot as he is a RL dinosaur who has been out of our game for far too long to just waltz back in and be successful as a coach and he knew that,that is why he didn't take the job on
Edwards is also the most over rated player that I have ever seen in our game but he had the luxury of playing in a galactictos Wigan side that were practically unbeatable during their golden era,and he thrived on that and has the medals to prove it!
He was never the same player when he left to play for Bradford and London
He was never successful when he played a guest stint at the Balmain Tigers and was regularly selected on the substitutes bench.
Whilst Garry Schofield and Ellery Hanley are both legends at Balmain and even Andy Currier had a decent stint there which surpassed Edwards abilities to shine at the top level
Edwards is very clever and he clearly knows how to be successful,He also loves his comfort zone as either a coach or a player and when he has been untested at the best sides he has excelled,but when he has tried the NRL or poorer UK sides he has looked very ordinary
Edwards has also been sensational as defence coach for Wales RU under Warren Gatland with no pressure on him what so ever!
He will never step out of his comfort zone and thrive as his big Ego won't allow it
