Haha! Really though, Frawley isn't the answer to any halfback problem other than a body that can kick. Matt Shaw claims he's a running threat, which shows how misleading stats are, because I can't recall him doing anything other than kick and pass in any game I've seen him play. He doesn't commit defenders because of that, which is why he's a reserve and nowhere near a starting NRL halfback.

Frawley has spent his career being deemed as not as good as Austin or Sezer. He was clearly a lesser player than Austin at Canberra. Hudds got rid of him to get in Sezer.

I hope this is just noise as he’s not good enough and neither is Milnes.

Smith is heading for the sack next year if he thinks some mix of Milnes,myler and Frawley or similar second rater will do anything

If he really is rumoured to be coming to us, I reckon I would have preferred giving Austin the 2 year deal he wanted as for me Austin (albeit blows hot and cold) still offers more than Sezer and Frawley

Didn't watch the game, so can't speak to todays performance. One thing I would say regards running threat is that he's scored a try in pretty much every other game (NSW Cup and NRL combined) games he's played this year. So statistically at least, he offers a greater try scoring threat than Sezer and Austin combined. Might be wrong but don't think they cracked double figures in two years. Sorting out the spine is going to be a collective thing. Miller plus (possibly Frawley) plus A N Other is going to have to add up to significantly better than this year, which would not be hard. No single player is going to do it.

Agree with last para there; hopefully either the rumour is true and RS is a tactical genius; or the rumour is false.

Austin has won games at times and Sezer also can be a good player. They’re not terrible they’re inconsistent - and our pack hasn’t been giving much of a platform for any halves for years.

On paper they looked a good combination but…

It is very hard to find the right quality at the right price but our competitors keep doing it better. If we don’t find a better 6/7 than Sezer and Austin for next season I really can’t see us making much progress again.

Well if as reported Smith wants him he is deluded.
Better playing Miller there and keep Myler at full back for another year even though not ideal,than this option.

Milnes and Frawley would be the worst HB pairing in the league and clear testament to where our ambitions have dropped to.

I'm not suggesting we should sign Milnes either. I'd just see zero point in using a quota spot on someone like Frawley. There are plenty of duff British halfbacks we could look at, which at least would leave a quota spot for someone in another position. I'd far rather we signed what we need - two quality halfbacks.
