They could start by being so good for the reserves or fev that they demand a place on the bench.then if they're really good they start.and if they're still good they keep their place. Simplistic perhaps but if this loan move works out (and I am sceptical) then that could potentially be of more benefit to the club than sticking a player on the bench just because they're academy players.

They can get experience playing in the Championship. If they are not better players they should not be in the team ahead of Donaldson.

So you would never have picked Sinfield, Maguire, Burrow etc? Thank God Dean Bell and Daryl Powell saw the potential and gave those kids a chance even though none of them was ready for it at the time.

Isn't this just the 'people forget' argument you so hate but now used to support your own view.

If we have young players better than donldson or indeed others then their quality will show through. I'm very sure our coaching staff have no particular love affair with Donaldson that means they see him through rose tinted glasses. They consider him worthy of a SQUAD place based on what he brings to the squad.

Are coaches and their staff always right? No. Could Donaldson's place be better used on a younger player? Honestly, none of us know. But Donaldson is a Leeds player so get behind him FFS.

Ive no idea what that 1st sentence is referring to if im honest.

We are all entitled to our opinions on players doesnt mean we are not behind any of them when on the field. Do i have to rate all of them? Hope not cos i dont. Theres a lot in this squad i dont rate very highly glad you do though.

Which better players were they picked over?
Are any of the current academy players as good as those 3?

Well Kevin was 16 when 1st picked so hard to say he was ready or better than the players we had then.

Holroyd and Walters certainly have to potential to be as good as those and wouldve walked into their academy team.

Think people are getting confused here though. Ive not seen anyone say these lads are ready or better than what we have. Nobody is saying they should play every week but for the future of the club in a salary cap era we do have to bring these kids through and it has to continue to happen. Waa Harry Newman ready when be played at Wigan that night on debut? Not a chance but now weve a centre for next 12 years hopefully.

Look at St Helens are and look at the kids theve brought through and given a chance to. Our academy teams are the equal of them.

Was Luke Thompson better than Amor 3 years ago? Waa he ready for week in weel out SL? No, but look at him now.
