| Quote craigizzard="craigizzard"Terrible game so far in terrible conditions with a terrible referee. Even amongst that, Burrow is managing to stand out as the worst player on the pitch.'"
Still a terrible game in the second half, but will admit Burrow was a lot better once he was moved away from scrum-half. "Worst on the pitch" award handed on for the night to Ryan Hall
"A" for effort from some of the less experienced players (Lilley, Keinhorst, Walters, Singleton all really dug in) but precious little quality on show.

I would argue he got "a lot" better. A bit better but could hardly get much worse

| Lilley will sadly never be a top SL player as long as I have a hole in my butt. Walters will never be a SL player.

| For all the criticism they got on here I actually thought that Lilly and sutcliffe were good in a poor team effort, both (especially sutcliffe) got terrible service but they managed to create enough points to win.
Hope moon isnt injured, cant afford many more out.
Did Baldwinson play? if not that is another stupid mistake from our coach, luckily (and for the first time this year) it didnt cost us, if he doesnt trust him then he shouldnt be in the squad never mind in the 17

I don't think lily coped any stick, seemed to have a good game to me. Sutcliffe not so much in my opinion

| I'd compare that to a striker who hasn't scored for about 15 games finally scoring off one that came off his backside or shin. Somehow got over the line but the better team probably lost. Hopefully (and it's a big hope) that just getting the first W in the column settles some nerves because it did look a team who knew they'd be in the sh*t if they lost this one.
Close call between Lilley and Singleton for MOM and Keinhorst added good energy and effort and Walters did ok too. Moon was good in the first 40 also. After that it ranged from average to outright poor. Give me a spine of Falloon, McGuire and Lilley please.
Take your boots to training next week with Moon and Handley added to the injury list.

Apart from his kick for the try, which is the equivalent of giving a monkey a typewriter, I can't think of anything positive Lilley contributed. Burrow was shocking also apart from the last 15.

Didnt think either were great, but you have to look at the poor service they are getting and the mistakes and bad lack of options on the outside
imo Sutcliffe looks the more talented of the two with a great instinct for the game, but could do with getting involved a bit more (although this is improving, he sees a lot of things that other players dont so could be great if he develops in the next year or two
Lilly seems to be putting in 100% effort but is also making a few too many errors and misreads and seems a bit of a liability in defence
The big shame is that they have been thrown in cold with Mcguire getting injured, when he is back I think Sutcliffe especially will play a whole lot better,

| Ref letting Hudd move off the mark at PTB by several steps and then penalizes Leeds for interference. Also letting a lot of offside.
Leeds lacking ideas and let in two soft tries with poor reads from Cuthbo/Hardaker for one and Hall for the other. Forwards not laying a platform and no one creating space.
Better defense from Leeds in 2nd half apart from Hall who looks badly down on confidence. Walters did has share of tackling, Ferres bravely took the ball in knowing he would get special attention, Cuthbo, Singo and Delaney did some hard graft and swopping Burrow and Lilley was crucial as was the tenacity and effort of Keinhorst who showed what a good utility players he is.
Lilley goal kicked well and looked better at SH than at 9 and his attacking kick was well executed under pressure.
However our half back play particularly in the first half was way below the standard needed.

| Galloway and unfortunately Delaney looking like absolute plodders with the ball in hand at the moment.
A night to forget for Hall and Burrow - I'm not someone who likes to bag Burrow, but the sooner we can get Burrow back on the bench as an impact sub, the better.
In general, we just seem to lack that bit of zip and energy - they all look a bit heavy legged, but these pitches can do that....
Bring on a dry track, get some troops back, we'll be right, and better for the experience gained, particularly for the likes of Lilley.
Special mention to Singleton and Cuthbo who carried the pack tonight.
