When Smith was asked about Milnes, he said Leeds were looking at the world of RL for a new half-back, so it's plausible we are lining up another overseas signing to play 6 or 7.

If we are looking at Milnes/Myler as potential options for 6 they'd need a top class 7 (maybe Croft) and then maybe a NRL 9. They have perhaps shown their hand in this regard with the attempt to sign Levi.

I would play CJ before O'conner personaly, but that dosnt look like its ever going to happen.

I think Johnson is the more natural 9 but is a couple of years behind his development; his distribution is probably the best we have overall. We haven’t had that right for a long time through Dwyer and Leeming. Those first two passes from the ruck are so important to nail.

I’m thinking they’ll plan to have Myler and Sinfield alternating at 7 with the idea that Sinfield will be starting 7 by season end.

We still need an out and out 6 with maybe Fergus McCormack as understudy.

Reasonably pleased with Miller as a FB, Hooley and Myler back up.

We are good for outside backs next year with Simpson back in, one or two more prospects coming through.

Would be happier with +1 real big athletic thing in the pack. I am a fan of the young lads in there but there are all still relatively young; Lisone and Sangare add some bulk but we need another player who can punch holes on the edges and whack in D.

Agree with most of this. Ideally our last two quota spots are for a half and a high impact back rower.

Unfortunately I don't think we'll be able to fix all that needs fixing this year. I'd be using the quota spots on the spine positions. The team badly needs a collective brain, and that, for me, is the only way to sort it.

The biggest things missing are:

Intelligence
Leadership
Mental Toughness
Pace
Skill

These are the things I’d be focusing on addressing with the recruitment for next year.

Annoying that we had every chance of winning those two as well, we'd be in 5th now, and if we hadn't balked up against the two worst teams in the comp we'd be in 3rd/4th

If we have definitely signed Lachie Miller I cannot see any reason for it not being announced, as in the NRL they announce players changing clubs for the following year even early in the current season.
