The kid has talent that’s for sure, but he needs to get fit. At no point since he joined the senior squad has he looked fit enough to me, although that might be because the coaching staff were trying to put weight on him to fit him into a different position.

If he got fit, I’d be happy to make him the bench backrower and give him a prolonged spell there to prove himself.

Mmm no not really! No way Cuthbo starts ahead of Prior. Also who knows how Briscoe will go after serious injury. We need a class winger before new second rower got me. Fans seem obsessed with the pack, but it’s the backs where we need more quality ....

It’s not about starting, it’s squad numbers. Cuthbertson has had 8 for a few seasons now, Merrin would have been given 11 again next season had he stayed, so Mellor will have already been given his squad number. Highly likely a big name will come in with the £175k and marquee spot available,

Agh sorry meant to quite the previous post to yours that had put a starting 13 down . Do you really think we are going back into the marquee thing. Thought we had learnt the lesson, we absolutely dire last year with two marquee signings .....
Think both were to satiate fan pressure!

We would be daft not to. I'd go for a kiwi/south sea islander personally they tend to settle better

Yeah I think we will be going in for another and I wouldn’t be surprised if we are one of the clubs that asked about Shannon Boyd. We’ve got good links with Gold Coast with our previous signings of Hurrell, Delaney and Vickery plus their signings from us of Mathers and Watkins.
