We desperately need to Newman to stay and I mean desperately as he is the only game changer we have. We’ve got loads of cap coming spare already we need quality in not losing more . I know he’s been injured but we need strike.

Feel sorry for Milnes , he is not good enough to play 6 for us and it would be an insane signing in my view. We need 2 high quality halves with Sinfield as cover and then Myler as 4th option with Hooley as FB cover. We are burning too much cap on plodders, projects etc. if Smith really wants him I’ve lost faith in him. If GH is pushing him that way he needs to get an allotment and play golf.

We simply need to be bringing in players good enough to win the completion. If they aren’t we are wasting money and time again.

Milnes would be fine as a back up half, it's showing now how just a few injuries can quickly put you in trouble without backup, especially in the halves.

Where I do agree is with us needing 2 quality starting half backs, if Milnes signs I don't think it is to fill one of those two spaces.

Would have to agree with all that. I've seen Milnes play in the flesh three times of late, and knowing that we've been linked I've watched him far more closely than I normally would an opposition player. I'm not a coach, or an expert, but I don't see anything other than a average player. An average player that we'd have to pay a fee for. We have to do better.

Yes Milnes is average and Championship level.
I would rather we get a class full back and have Myler as back up in the halves if and when needed.
And as been said not worth wasting cap,no matter how small, on plodders.

Id rather we get more back up in the halves, and a decent full back, it doesn't have to be either or.

Even Myler is better than Milnes
And I meant as a Donaldson type in the backs,so if itcame to it could cover full back as well.
Plus only for a year whilst hopefully giving Sinfield more time to develop.
