The Lewis thing was just some kid on Facebook who started it I think, and even the HDM reporter for Rovers jumped on it and put out a pretty childish article refuting the rumour.
Lewis isn't what we need anyway. We need a 7, a game manager, good kicking game. Trueman is getting better each week for us, and we have Hoy to come back yet - with Litten deputising really well.
Jordan McLean has been linked, same as Shaun Blore - they would be great signings for the pack - but everyone we are rumoured to have targeted so far, seem to have gone elsewhere - Clune to Hudds, Connor Watson supposedly resigning with the Roosters - so either that is bad luck, or, we were not even in for those players anyway as the general consensus is that we will be announcing 4 x NRL players, and 4 British players
Great to hear another clubs fan’s perspective, so are some Hull fans doing the same as some Leeds fans snd thinking that the club is being run badly and ayers don’t want to go there because they haven’t yet announced signings 7 months before next season starts?
The reality is theres only really Wigan who have announced a load of signings.
If GH really has some signatures up his sleeve but doesn't want to announce because other clubs have requested, he could simply put out a press release confirming that signings (perhaps including a major half back) have been made and will be announced on a specific date. It would allow the club to regain the narrative - which has currently become about a perceived lack of ambition - and actually give the fans something to look forward to. The current line - GH scouring the market whilst competitors gradually annouce signings - makes him look like the RL equivalent of Mr Magoo. Of course all this presupposes that some recruitment has already taken place.
GH probably doesn’t care about people whining in the stands, on twitter and on southstander, so will see no need to put on a future event to announce signings. Like Smith said, he will probably announce signings when ready.
As long as he’s making money he will be happy. Which is fair enough.

Or
Are Hull fans taking the nodding dog approach like some Leeds fans, thinking everything is in hand and being ran well despite years of evidence to the contrary?

Might have also something to do with us about to finish out of the top 4 for sixth successive season, possibly in 9th or 10th ,senior players leaving early and not being replaced, no signings being made and at present for next year we line up with a 33 year old FB, no halves and a developing hooker with limited ability on attack. I and plenty of others have had enough of the waffly emails and BS.
We will make signings but any great complacency or optimism from some fans is a triumph of hope over consistent long term experience.
I hope GH @ RS prove me wrong next year but I’ve been waiting for that for a long time.

I get that but at the same time I want is to get the right signings for next year not just sign players to appease fans who are getting restless.
My point was that we aren’t the only club that hasn’t announced major signings yet, in fact most haven’t.
It’s not just next year desperation signings like Tetevano to keep you lot happy, nicely. We cannot be tying up so much cap on players for years who end up being sinks. If the right players aren’t available in one off-season so be it; we may need to catch our monkey slowly but surely.
Rather that than Hail Mary’s which just haven’t worked. We are not on the same world as 10 years ago when we could still get genuinely good NRL players if we were smart. Scott Donald or Kylie Leuluai today? Not sure at all.

I’m not expecting Danny Buderus signings and don’t want desperation signings. Smith has been in now for well over a year and we’ve known Austin, Sezer and Tetevano were all out of contract this year, so the club has had a long time to plan/make very considered signings.

You can only sign who’s available at this stage. A lot happens in the NRL off season.
