The bigger picture here is that Wilson's slant on the match does it no real justice - in reality, it was a cracking game, played at high speed and high skill level by the two best teams in the country by far, and as such was a great advert for the game in general. According to Wilson though, it seems that the most notable aspect of the game was the supposed violence, with Leeds obviously being the main perpetrators. Ironic really, given that Gilmour's OTT attack on Smith after being pushed out of the way, and Graham and co's pathetic reaction to Bailey fairly and squarely putting their overrated mate on his ar$e (not to mention Graham's "3rd man in cheapshot!") were by far the biggest examples of poor discipline throughout the match!
It's clueless reporting like this which does us and the game in general no favours whatsoever. If Wilson does indeed browse through these pages, I would love to hear his justification for reporting events in a manner which few, not even most Saints fans, seem to agree with.
