For all the complaints about Fusitua being at 50% appearances, I bet its higher than Newman has achieved
Funny how some players get a pass and others don't. Depends on the narrative you are trying to get across

Newman's appearance record is poor, but he came through the Leeds academy and picked up his injuries while under contract as a Leeds player.
Fusitua was an injury prone player before we signed him and it has turned out that way since he has been at Leeds. A terrible signing so far imo and it would be a mistake to give him another contract. Even when he has played he has never put in performances above OK.

Probably because Newman has come through the system and is a relatively young player with a lot of potential, has had some really bad luck and should be supported. We've also very publicly seen the work he's put in with each time he's had to rehab.

Fusitua (who I really like when he plays) takes a quota spot and undoubtedly a greater salary and didn't come through our scholarship and academy.

It's not difficult really, is it.

Plus, despite the rough edges, he is perhaps our only true match winner. Really hoping that when he makes his return he can play the rest of the season without injury and have a full pre-season.

Agreed, Newman also isn’t out of contract.

I like Fusitua, he’s had some horrible luck with injuries but that can turn around (see Johnson at catalans) I would keep him on reduced terms, partly because at this point there are more pressing positions to recruit.

Fair point.
But the narrative is that Fusitua is on a massive contract and takes a quota space.
So not really a like for like comparison.

And IMO, when both fit, I'd rather have Newman all day long.
