Yep..recruitment and in particular the quality of it is going to be crucial this off season.
Let’s face it this last off seasons recruitment was pretty MEH….only really MacDonald added that was going to be a guaranteed starter (and perhaps Lisone and Sangare for rotation/bench spots) Olpherts has so far proved to be gash and let’s be honest the rest were championship project signings of which McDonnell has proved to be astute, jury out on the rest so far.
Some fans didn’t seem that concerned as they said (with some justification) that we didn’t have the required cap space due to years of mismanagement of the cap with poor signings/retention…this off season there is no such excuse as we have more cap space left this time than I can ever remember, so what ambition do the club have….we will see, but big test for GH and Rohan to identify and then sign the right calibre of players, as I fear this time around project signings are not going to cut the mustard with a lot of fans.
