Yes Paul Caddick is absolutely minted but he doesn’t put money into the club like that.

I think a lot will depend on whether Caddick was part of the decision to get rid of Austin. If he was, I reckon he'll back GH with the required cash. That being said, doesn't mean clubs will take it.

That to me doesn't sound like a club thats about to make a transfer fee signing, it's who is available and on the market.

Can’t see us paying a transfer fee for a player, it just doesn’t seem to be the Leeds way these days. It’s probably the only way we’re going to get a decent half back in at this rate.

Considering we have known all season that we have Sezer Austin Tetevano Fusitua and Bentley off contract plus Leeming and Walters money for last couple of months you would wonder what GH has been doing if we are only actively looking now. Or perhaps we have been looking but it's in the bargain bucket!

Due to a general lack of interest and a lack of excitement around the club, it’s years since I’ve had a season ticket. I still go to some games, I just choose them and it also depends on what else the family want to do these days. I spend less than I would on a season ticket and enjoy the games I go to because of the social occasion, but they become less and less each year.

I think there are more people like me than not these days, and if the club don’t do something to generate some excitement (jam tomorrow isn’t good enough any more) then people will continue to drift away from the club and game in general.

It’s a shame.

Who’s said they’ve only started looking now?

There’s also still quite a lot of time before next season, it seems that this season everyone is clamouring for announcements during the season, clubs often sign or announce signings in the off season, I think this August 4th deadline thing has got everyone worked up (not just our fans)

There’s always movement in the NRL after their season finishes

For today RS will have to come out and say 'we' re happy and confident with the group we've got'. Confident in them to achieve what I'm not sure, similar to the 'we've got options' line about FB in particular.

I have to say the reaction to a 32 year old half back instigating his own departure after working up to it for a number of months seems pretty disproportionate. It's sad that you have lost the love of the club to the point where you only rarely attend, but I'm not sure you are the typical fan. There are still 13k turning up on a weekly basis and they have done so (excluding Covid) throughout the ongoing slump. I fancy they'll still be there next year. I just hope that the club can use the cap now spare (I 'd estimate getting on for a third of the total figure) and bring you back on a more regular basis. I'd say the jury is still out on recruitment, but Austins departure is a good thing in the long run even it does us no favours for the rest of the season.
