That's about right. The way We're set up means your defenders need to be extremely quick in order to recover. I don't think any of our defenders are that bad individually, but they have no real pace. Marche should probably change the set up around the players we have rather than trying to get them to play in a system that exposes their weaknesses, but similarly to Bielsa, I'm not sure he knows how to play another way.

We need the likes of Kyle Walker to be able to play the way he wants us to play!
Rob like you say Wober would probably be our best centre half if he played there which shows how poor the ones we`ve got now.
I reckon a back 4 of Jack, Tad you and I would be just as effective to what we currently have
Going back to the transfer thread.
Would we have been better getting Diaz and Neves for what we are paying for Rutter?

Interesting to see what team is tomorrow night and whether Wober is in at left back and if so who the centre backs are.. i think Sinesterra is still a week away, looking forward to him coming back, he's got a bit of xfactor.

I'd be tempted to start with Gnonto and Harrison too. Harrison looks much fitter and sharper now. If you put Summerville and Aaronson together i think it's a bit lightweight.

Rutter deal agreed. He'll fly in later for the medical.

We're well in the race for Ounahi, so hopefully we'll see a new central midfielder brought in next.

From what i'd read and what Phil Hay was saying, i thought that one was just a bit of paper talk and not thought to be on Orta's radar? Thought Orta quoted as saying he was good in world cup but not been good for his club side... interesting one to watch though.

Good deal is that for Rutter, £28m up front, add-ons rising to £35m over the period of his deal. I think that;s not a bad price at all. Need to be patient with him as fans, though very highly rated he's only 20.

Fabrizio Romano says it's between us and Napoli for Ounahi. The local journalists like Phil Hay and Smyth don't seem to get all the transfer news like they used to.

Summerville out with an ankle injury for a month, Bamford back in the squad.

I`m still not sure about the signings wrt Rutter and possibly Ounahi.
Orta has already had Ounahi watched for a while and didn`t rate him in a poor side.
Admittedly he played well in the WC.
Rutter looks a good prospect and if he`s another Gnonto we have done well.
But from what the German and French press say about him is that he`s a bit fragile mainly due to his age and unlikely to hit the ground running.
Isn`t that what we need at this stage?
Someone who will bag the goals and keep us up like an Ings or a Diaz.
It`s great having some cracking youngsters for the future but they won`t stay around if we get relegated.
