I think we are in for a very interesting few months in terms of signings and retention. I still wouldn’t be surprised if we bring in another two or three names. Martin stays and I feel that Hurrell and Vuniyayawa will leave the club, as well as L Briscoe and Mclelland.

Agar has said that we will run a bigger squad next season which is an interesting thing to hear. Field, Burton and Johnson likely to get squad numbers, with Sinfield.

Dont think Burton will be here next season, Leeming, Dwyer and Johnson in the first team then Jonah Parsons would be the young hooker to keep on imo. Agree on Field, he's handling the move to 2nd row very well, was a good, classy youth international 6 but could be an excellent backrow, good size, good athleticism, runs good lines and obviously excellent skills for a backrow...Had a very good game in the Academy origin match midweek.

Rumours circulating that Hardaker is about to return to Cas (not sure why given how his career there ended in 2017 and the outrage of the fans towards him) BUT IF there is anything in the rumour that he wants/needs to return to Yorkshire for family reasons should we be trying to hijack that deal....or has he ‘burnt his bridges’ at Leeds as well?

Agar has previously said on record saying we have been looking for a utility back....well Zak would give quality utility cover being able to play to a high standard at full back, wing and centre as opposed to the ‘Jack of all trades master of none’ utility that Sutcliffe offers for example.

Can’t see it happening but interesting scenario to debate?

We like players who can play and so Field moving to back row could suit.

Still wonder whether Gannon in particular will end up at prop like his Dad.

Again just a really talented set of young lads coming through and it’s great to see.

Particularly that U17 cohort; a handful of first teamers in the making there.

Gannon looks like he's going to be big enough and athletic enough to play any pack position bar 9, what we havnt seen so far at first team level, is how skillful he is aswel, played 6 for siddal at times, was awarded M.O.M playing 6 in Yorkshire cup final against Simpson, Edgell and Spears Kippax team.

I'm very interested in how the squad develops from here. Lui, Hurrel and Martin were signed in desperate times. I'm sure we paid over the odds for them. Whether down grades for Hurrell and Martin allows for someone else to come in I don't know. On the face of it though it looks like
Martin > Bentley
Hurrell > Austin
Lui > Sezer

We were being linked with Scurr from Bradford recently.

I don’t know whether we need a better prop than King, or a higher impact second row than Martin…with respect to Harrison I want us to push the quality bar higher and stop signing squad players.

I've seen Scurr play a few games, he runs the ball in hard and fast but he's really undersized and it's hard to see him making much of a dent in a SL defence, and he has looked very vulnerable in defence on the occasions I've seen him.

I don't know if Leeds tried to get Harrison but there were supposedly several SL clubs chasing him, he's improving with every game, versatile, ulta-fit and I think he'll do well at Wire.

One other mini-rumour that can be put to bed, Leeds were supposedly taking an interest in Gareth Gale but he's just signed a 2-year contract extension at Fev. Right move all round I think, he's been terrific for us at Fev but I suspect he'd be in the Luke Briscoe type of situation at Leeds and it probably makes more sense for him to be playing for his home-town club than being a squad member not guaranteed a game at Leeds

Thanks for the update on Gale I was wondering. Good player but agree with your take.

Honestly at the moment we have a very strong young squad, I’d much rather see us keep our powder dry for best-we-can-get signings who are clearly better than what we have coming through the system.

Wonder if Luke will return to Fev - think he’s gone well for Leeds this year but I’d rather give game time to Tindall or Broadbent next year.
