Austin has burnt his bridges so can understand no new contract offer but to release him now especially with the back up Myler ( don't all get excited) out for the season seems madness unless someone is coming in and even then they have no time to get up to speed. We really do seem to be a club without a plan and a chief executive who appears out of touch with the modern game. Hopefully I am pleasantly surprised and Austin leaves on Thursday and Croft arrives on Friday but I am not holding my breath. What odds Sezer getting crocked on Sunday and us finishing the season with Smith and Johnson in the halves.

So…

Looks like the club have had enough of Austin gobbing off, going to Cas for the rest of the season.

I’m sure some will disagree but i back them on this.

Agree or otherwise, with Myler looking like hes played his last game this year aswell, i think we can confidently say this season is now done. I really hope theres some strategy behind all this because its looking a real mess right now.

Can't be slagging the club off in public as a contracted player and not expect some consequences for your actions

I'm thinking that the timing of Warren going as well means that something is lined up.

They've freed up a quota spot and a big salary, as well as a smaller salary in Warrens, so there must be a play. It's also a little too much of a coincidence that there was an article about Salford selling players earlier in the week.

Having said that, they didn't sign anyone when Leeming left...

Maybe Myler's injury has caused Leeds to see the season as done? That may be why they're then suddenly happy to let Austin go rather than keep him around just to see out the year. Anyway, I guess we'll see what Hooley's made of....rather that than waste more time on Handley there, unless he's a disaster.

No, Warren is just coincidental and will just get him some more competitive gametime, his salery next to the release of Leeming and Austin is a drop in the ocean. I dont expect to see anyone come in.

A drop in the ocean agreed, but they all add up in a salary capped sport.

The tweet from the rhinos page says that they have accepted a request from Austin. That doesn't fill me with confidence....
