He was very good in big games at end of last season but mixed at best this year.

Not sure this passive defence suits him , not sure it suits me either but I only have to watch it.

He likes to play to the limit,sadly for him that limit is now watched+policed closer.

Nor I. We have Martin, Gannon, McDonnell, Goudemand and possibly Ruan competing for a spot. I'd rather use the cap space on quality in the spine positions if and when players become available.

I think Bentley would go OK in the NRL. There is more aggression in the game there still and defence is never passive. Would be worth a watch if he comes up against Radley. If Bentley goes we have Sezer/Tet/Leeming salary plus possibly Austin Fusitua suspect both have offers on the table but are holding out to see what else comes up.

I believe that Bentley has held talks with us (Hull FC)

Bentley is a signing that should have worked out better than it has so far. He was unreal at Saints, and hasn't been half the player for us.

As others have said, style has to have a lot to do with it, but also his ball carrying at Saints was miles better. With the quicker line and ruck speed he was a far better player. Still, at least we're winning the energy battle..........

Gaz Ellis was another brilliant British signing. Difficult one isn't it.. but we certainly need to be ready to pounce if one came along... it'd be someone from likes of Saints, Wigan, Wire... the days of Bradford, Cas and Wakey having cracking young British players seem to be long gone.
