To be fair I haven't seen us linked with Sutton anywhere other than a single comment on a Wigan forum that teems with rumours. Not to say it isn't true though.

How do you know we're in for Sutton? Just speculation? On a rumour thread how very dare you

The problem with Sutton over dupree is basically paying an NRL premium for him. Sutton has had a decent spell in the NRL, but he's not hit the heights of Burgess, Graham or even Whitehead. Yet I bet his wage demands are double that of Dupree.

That's the issue with NRL signings. We signed Tetevano a marquee wage for three years, when I bet we wouldn't have offered someone like Walmsley (who is twice the player in my view) the same kind of money...

Dupree is from Leeds, came through the academy, was perhaps let go in error, and it's a real shame we couldn't go out and get him back.

Agree. Tetevano though, when signed did look a very good one. He's just not delivered. But i get what you are saying, the last time we made a cracking statement British signing imo was JP. He made such a big impact and was instrumental in our rise to the top. We could do with something similar in the next year or two.

I agree, but even if we had the money available, who is that British signing who could have the JP effect? We also signed Gaz Ellis, and I don’t see an equivalent of him around at the moment either.
