There is absolutely no way we will recruit a replacement for Austin who is better. Not a clue what we are messing around with.

I'm not sure I agree, he's being pressed on what his future looks like, who can blame him for being honest if the club simply aren't speaking to him. Looks to me that their treatment of him isn't great and he's just being honest, he's not slagging anyone off.

To be fair to him, he broke the Olpherts signing months before it was announced and we were all giving Him stick saying it must be made up rubbish…he also broke the Sangare signing and Goudemond before confirmed by the club and that’s just recently….appears there was also truth in the fact we were speaking to Fitzgibbon who Wire have just signed.

Granted, seems the Tyrone Roberts rumour was rubbish….thankfully, but just like Sharky on here….some rumours come off….others don’t

Yet we give a 4 year deal to MacDonald.
If we are looking elsewhere who are we going to get.
Only improvement in Super league would be Williams,Croft or Lomax and we will not be signing any of them.
We need experience not a punt on some Aussie reserve,or an over the hill Aussie who would not be an improvement.

He's not slagging them off but the club has always said they don't do recruiting by media and they will update when there's something to update on.

Austin is entitled to say what he wants, and I like him but It just doesn't sit right with me playing it out in public - it's just ,my take on it.

It's also interesting how things turn out - I seem to remember his actual signing initially was met with quite a bit of apathy

How can you know that? We will have a least one marquee spot to play with, probably two. What's to say that the club haven't offered Kyle Flanagan a 2 year contract and are waiting for answer? GH is exploring his options, which might involve managing cap space in order to land 2 or 3 players who might make a real difference. Offering a two year contract to a 32 year old half (who tends to play with his leg strapped) might not be the smartest move in those circumstances. I like Austin and over the last month he's been the best six in the league. Over the last 18 months he hasn't. There are two sides to any story and we are only getting one. The club, rightly, are keeping their cards close to their chest.

It would make sense if it's Shaun Johnson
