| It was mentioned a couple of weeks ago by a credible poster on here (Jrrhino) that we've offered a deal to Charlie Staines.
Moley now reporting that a number of West Tigers players (including Staines) are off contract and are likely to be released in a big clear out. This also includes Wakeham and Laurie. Interesting!

| Sharkys tips sound good. Would be a big change in spending from the last 5-6 years

| Sangare has extended for another year. I hope these longer contracts for players who have only just joined and we’re already contracted for next year are at a reduced cost per year giving us more room to move.

I think there’s definitely some Salary Cap jiggery pokery going on here, I think it’s also s case of the club implementing a longer term strategy.

Lawrie is an interesting one, not least because it might explain the clubs stance on Austin. He's played most of his NRL football as a fullback, but is currently playing six in the Queensland Cup. Gus Gould (who rates him highly) believes that is his best position. Maybe we are looking at an controlling seven who allows the stand off to play a more old school running game. Myler at full back would provide additional structure. Could use the other quota space to bring in a prop.

It might be a different player but the scruffy looking stick man who plays 6 for wests is called Lawrie and is one of the poorest halfs I've ever seen in the Nrl he looks like he needs a good meal or two and a year in the gym.

| He's a bit scrawny looking but was one of the best juniors around. He had to leave the Panthers as Edwards is there, and joined the basket case that is Wests. Ditto Staines, who can also play wing as well as full back.

| Lawrie was dreadful on Saturday. But so were most of the Wests team.
He's never a 6.
Maybe a decent FB.

| Staines is a FB/W
Laurie is a FB/6
Those 2 cover decent positions and although maybe fringe NRL - just look at French & Field.
If you cant hold down a spot playing for Wests......
We still need a Centre to play with Newman (maybe that gun from Batley, Josh Hodson?) and a Prop to replace Tetevano.
