I was disappointed in the film, I think if you are going to do something like that then you should at least attempt to get some of the characters right, the actor playing Don Revie was good as was the Clough part but I knew Johnny Giles (he lived next door to my posh auntie and we plagued the life out of him as kids) and his character in the film was just ridiculous.
I'd also question the YTV interview with Revie and Clough, it was re-released by YTV when the film was first released and I can see why now, the film didn't really follow the script of the interview at all.
About the wigs though - they were just about spot on, the 1970s weren't well known for sensible hair styles, the Gordon McQueen character in particular looked accurately stupid
