The Tyrone Roberts thing - as much as I hope this is rubbish, there is a scenario where it could sort of make sense (bear with me )
The only way I can see this making sense s if Jack Sinfield is to get the number 7 shirt next year with Austin Kept on as 6 - a player like Roberts could be brought in to replace Sezer on a vastly vastly lower wage to help bring Sinfield through but not to be starting first choice half back, this frees up a large proportion of the salary cap that Sezer is/was on.
As I say it's not what I would particularly want but it also depends on who else is available, I would love to see a proper Marquee half come in along with a young gun full back with some pace (Jai Field type player) but it simply may not be possible with who is actually available.
On other rumour of Gourmand - I don't mind this at all, decent player and doesn't count on the OS quota.
I also don't think we should be overly panicking just because Wigan have announced a few signings, we as a club always announce signings later on, it doesn't mean nothing has been done, look at other clubs in the league like Saints they are similar to us in that they keep these things quiet mid season.
