Some pessimism is to be expected, I think.
Because of mistakes made with coaches, player contracts and play style over the last 3-4 years especially has felt very repetitive and frustrating.
It looks like RS will be the coach for the foreseeable which I can understand.
However, GH and RS need to deliver with big signings to improve the spine and in putting in performances that aren't embarrassing
I think some of these problems are of our own making and go back even further that even 3-4 years.
Putting ex-players into positions they were not qualified for was one.
Taking our eye off the ball academy wise - recruitment / identification and coaching within that.
Keeping hold of players past their prime
Not doing the correct "due diligence" wrt new signings leading to uninterested / unmotivated highly paid flops.
Player power in the waning days of the "Goldens".
We need a really good bottoming and TBF this has, albeit 4 years too late been started recently so we have to see this process through.
We'd never seen sustained success like the goldens and I can see how we all as a club and supporters wanted to hang on to that but its time to stop harking back to that and move on and create the "next" generation.
