We’ve seen repeatedly that the best way to compete is to rave a home grown spine. Hopefully Jack, O’Connor and Johnson are part of that, but they’re all young or inexperienced. Jack in particular probably still need an experienced half to guide him through because how many halves start every week at 18?

Fullback is the biggest signing I’d like to make this off-season. The lad from wests seems a good shout. I don’t like Handley there but agree with the concept of having someone more athletic there.

While I appreciate your solemnity Arthur I'm just getting a tad jaded with the revolving door philosophy on team progression while we sit in the shadows of others if that offends you I apologise.

Truth is it may take us a long time to get back up there again. The default before the Goldens for a VERY long time was - this. And occasionally playing second fiddle to Wigan.

What gives me hope is that we do have a good crop of young players who can improve further. Think most of us agree on which positions we need to bring in.

This feels like one of the most important recruitment years we have had in ages - let’s hope RS is the master strategist after all…

I can't see Brooks coming to Leeds. Uncle Gary won't pay the money he wants. He has just turned down a million dollar contract for 2 years.

He'll stay in the NRL. I've heard Newcastle Knights are putting a big offer in.
