it would be interesting to compare success of all SL clubs since the salary cap came into play

And if you exclud those clubs who have been found guilty of cheating the cap it would be easy to see who topped the table of achievment.

So they should have the accolade taken away from them because of their forward thinking?



Take away their period of FT v PT and they are still more successful than Leeds (who were pretty much full time anyway from the late 80s onwards) and the rest historically.



BTW, Leeds were also full time when Wigan beat us 70-6 and 69-12 in the playoffs.

course they shouldn't,they were a class side.

however we can all point to good times in our history.

the salary cap has evened things up and they haven't done too well since it came in. coming close in final eliminators isn't good enough.most teams have lost in them

There is a school of thought that suggests that Wigan were also bending the old RFL bye-laws at the time they first went fully pro, as it had been a traditional rule that no player shall earn their living from the game.



The question is (and I haven't checked this out using the old copies in the library in Leeds) when the law was dropped, by whom and were Wigan already fully pro at the time ?
