So they dont signal what the penalty is actually for?
Technically its not a 'penalty' now just an infringement, it happens so quick there wouldn't be time to signal and it will be assumed its for messing around at the ruck, anything like a head shot or stripping is still a normal penalty
So you believe the integrity of the referees is in question? Do you believe referees cheat?
I believe the integrity of the officials is in question yes, and I base that on years of seeing the same thing. The same thing that Referees have OPENELY admitted that they do tend to have an evening up of penalty counts in the later stages of games, if it is big in one teams favour beforehand.
Last night, we all sat there watching that game, and knew beyond doubt that we would end up getting decisions later on, due to how he had reffed the first 60 minutes. That completely smacked of inconsistency, and was an intentional decision made by Hicks later in the game. That intention to me questions why it can't be done correctly in the first place? what is the reason for not doing that?
The accountability in the NRL is far greater than we have, which is actually none existent. Without that, our officials will and should be always questioned. Does that mean intentionally Cheat as you refer? I think there is a difference to what I said.

Fair enough Gotcha. I dont believe a ref, and i did it for a number of years, would deliberately even a count up. I never knew the count anyway so couldnt but the momentum of the game changed in the last 15 mins so pens/back to 1 was bound to swing back in our favour.
Ive no issue with The Milky Bar kids performance our discipline was poor around the ruck for large parts and our performance for 65 mins was poor, thats not the refs fault in my opinion.
I do worry if the back to 1 isnt signalled nobody will have a clue why its back to one which will cause issues for referees from coaches and fans.

Hicks seemed fair to both teams last night, Huddersfield was trying to play a fast game and Hicks rightly or wrongly reset the tackle count back to one, it Took Leeds some 65 minutes to speed up their game and once they did and they got on a roll Hicks started to penalise Huddersfield for the same infringements. This suggests that we need to clean up our act at play the ball and not wait until the 65 minute to realise what was happening. Generally I don’t see any of our Refs blatantly giving advantage to one side over the other side, they try to be even handed, maybe the linesmen should take more responsibility and speak out if they see anything.

So the ref manufactured the boneheaded strip to give a pen. Then the tackle in the air to give a pen?
Hudds imploded and gave away lots of completely valid and largely blatantly obvious penalties as a result. You can call that lack of integrity by the ref, I prefer to call it a team losing its way
To say the referee's are biased and incompetent is embarassing and shows why other fans call us 'Whino' s'. We need to fix up are own deficiencies. From last night looked like a few 50 :50 calls went against us. Does that explain why Lui threw the ball 10 yards behind our whole back line, or Handley showed blatant dissent? The Mellor try wasn't a try in a million years, so to call the ref biased against us is beyond my ken!

Couldnt agree more. Total nonsense to question Hicks' integrity.
My own pov is watch the "offences" he was giving them 6 again then answer why we didnt get the same calls i.e Hands on the Ball ,Markers not square pushing at the ptb. No consistency whatsoever. He slso rightly penalised Mellor for blocking a kick chase yet ignored the same happening to Cam Smith. We have some really poor discipline efforts to address but there's more than enough for Hicks to work on as well as his TJ's.
