I'm right behind you where Bates is concerned tad, but there can be no hiding for Grayson either if this lot don't work out.

Even though freebies is the craze (althought not my preferred choice) there has been still plenty enough quality about and still is, that seem to be going/gone to other clubs. Of the freebie selections Grayson appears to be picking his own choices out of them, so he must take some of the blame if it fails.

The optimist in me thinks that we are trying to build a large squad and then hopefully we'll have one pretty decent transfer who will make the difference.

The Championship is a funny league, and recently a team which has only escaped relegation in the last couple of weeks, has gone up, or got very close to it for the last 4 seasons at least.

Much as I'd like to go straight up next season, a year of consolidation may not be a bad thing long term

Tbf there was never an official bid so we don't know that but i know what you mean!
All depends who the new striker turns out to be imo and we still need a Midfield enforcer.
I honestly do think some of the current squad will prove good enogh for this league not top 6 but safe and mid-table so Bates and SG shouldn't really be saying we are here to push for promotion because that's not accurate with this squad imo.
