I still think 6, 7, 1 and possibly 9 but at least one high quality half and a FB. Handley is good cover at the back but for me he is a winger. Wasn't Gannon being mooted as possible standoff material?

They've probably been trying Gannon in the halves to improve is ball skills, whilst reducing his defensive workload.

Maybe so,would be a cheaper option. Handley might even get a go there he's played wing,Centre and fullback so why not standoff?

I hope that’s sarcastic…he can’t pass well enough for fullback, never mind stand-off. I seem to remember someone previously suggesting we try Dwyer there and that would’ve been equally bad.

Gannon as others have said probably won’t be quick enough, but it might aid his development, I’d imagine there’s still some thought going into where he’ll end up long term. Currently looks like a back row, could end up a 13 or if he packs the size on he’s prop sized.

If we could recruit a fullback myler becomes your reserve half along with Jack, but you’d probably still expect a signing. What’s going on with Fages atm? Seems to be the odd one out at Hudds.

Not sarcastic it just seems that Smith wants his best players on the field and to do so some will have to play out of position,Martin, Bentley, Macdonall,Gannon who gets dropped if all fit?

Like Austin on the wing for England - problem is your best players become not your best players when they’re played well out of position.

Very few players are genuine multi-role athletes in practice. Yes there are some but most do better in line with their attributes of course.
