never rated him. Good runner from dummy half but that's about it

Rohans already started that last off season, call it ruthless but its clear he's here to do a job. Leemings spoken lots about his England dissapointed as a motivation and he's just not got that consistent level in him defence being a major concern.

smiths maybe seen the difference in performance when he's on the field compared to O'Connor and decided he's not the kind of player we need

As Jack Burton said it happens a lot in NRL and Rohan talks a lot about what a good athlete he is.

If, big IF you had Newman at FB and Gannon at stand off in a few years time, it fills 2 key positions with academy products and gives you more cap to play with.

Myler is very tough and durable but he’s been playing for 16 years now. He’s got a lot of miles on the clock and although he’s very smart, we need a bit of cover there. It’s just my thoughts and if you listened to my wife, you’d have a pretty low opinion of them.

The problem with Leeming in my opinion is that he doesn't work with Sezer/Austin, he's too dominant and makes them both almost completely ineffective. O'Connor (bar last night), seems to be a better match for them.

Where Leeming is actually very good is tracking through the middle and supporting play around the ruck. In that case, he works well with Cam Smith, and I think we would have done better last night if he played with Smith directing 90% of our attack.

The big picture problem is succession plan for the spine as a whole. Do you get rid of Leeming because he isn't great with our halves, even though there's a decent chance one or both might not be here next season?

Leeming is good as gone. Decision made.

Probably for the best. This has obviously been festering since last season when O'Connor took over as starting hooker. About a week before Smith said there wouldn't be a single captain for this year Leeming was saying how he wanted to be the captain again. That was probably a bit crass on both sides, but it wouldn't be a surprise if their relationship just became too strained. Far better to cut ties than have a senior player in a huff hanging around.

I hope we do recruit to replace him at some stage, but Johnson surely needs a chance to show what he's got, as we're one injury away from either a complete tyro who has only played a handful of games or risk another non-specialist hooker. I like Bentley but I'm not sure he has the sort of general ruby smarts O'Connor seems to.
