Re: New Head Coach - who's it going to be? : Mon May 20, 2019 6:47 pm
IMHO The club can't be allowed to drift. Agar has said he did not expect the role and does not want it, he will only be able to continue if we beat London or possibly Wakey. If we lose both we will be at best bottom with Hull KR with games coming up v saints, Wigan and Catalan, 3 more defeats.

Would Caddick / GH allow this to just roll on and sleepwalk into the championship.

In all businesses you need a plan and someone driving that plan, having Agar just holding the fort is not acceptable.

sinfield has put in place a new model and said after Furner was sacked that the model is still the right one. That is him as DOR, agar as head of development or whatever and a head coach and an assistant coach. At present the model is not fulfilled and if Sinfield thinks it's right he needs to recruit a new head coach and assistant.

This holding position with Agar is only acceptable if someone is lined up for next year like Powell. I very much doubt this is the case.

As others have said it is likely a character like wane will want to control things himself.

In Sinfield's interview with Carney he said he would agree to go if the club no longer wanted him around, that seemed an odd thing to say unless it appears to him a genuine possibility.

If we pick up quickly Agar may get to the end of the season but for mine there is a crunch coming, agar, ford, Marshall are not the right men for this big task. I would not be surprised to see Sinfield gone soon if don't get going soon.

Personally, I don't think it's acceptable to just drift with Agar , we need a coach to get into this squad and get what they want embedded now.

"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

The heart-wrenching accounts of people who have mysteriously "fallen out of love with the game" just at the same time as Leeds have stopped winning everything make me laugh.

I think for me it started at the turn of this decade with the drop off of standards abd quality imports and the wrestle taking over the game.

I interpreted that as Sinfield basically saying the club is the most important thing and not him or his position within it, but having said that I was in the minority that Sinfield came across as honest in that interview and didn’t see it as a car crash like some.

Its catch 22 he needs to make sure the next coaching appointment is 100% correct so indeed should take his time but if the interim coach doesn’t work out he’ll be under massive amounts of pressure.

One things for sure I don’t envy him at the moment the pressure must be huge.

Me too. Total joke. Funny thing is Leeds losing makes me want to support the club more. 39 years I've watched the club home and away and that isn't changing even if we go down. I will be at St Helen's Sat watching 19s and Anfield Sun.

Stop moaning and support the club because right now the club needs our support more now than at any point since 1996.

McDermott and Wane managing two tops clubs took the game over here backwards, that was whilst both coaches were winning. Get off the high horse.

I think it’s a number of things.
I don’t go as much as I used to, I will watch games on sky with other teams but don’t have much interest in it which I think is down to it not really having a lot involvement in it.
Circumstances change I never missed a game home and away with my mates now have a young family priorities change. Prices seem to have risen a lot I like to take the kids but it’s over 100 quid for us all just to get in and it’s hard to justify when your watching crap.
I think I’m somewhere in the middle I agree somewhat with your post but but equally I don’t agree with these “super fans” I’ve been going 39 years I’m great get behind your team.

I've no doubt everyone's enthusiasm will return when things turn around which they will over next few years

Soon as we are winning again people will come running back.

What a great fan base we have. 8 titles weve won, 3 WCCs and 1st sign of losing and people have lost interest. Just laughable.
