Reckon saints will come out like that.
Tough game for both sides this, very excited for it
Looking at our squad I can only think that keinhrost been brought back in for the wing spot, but he has been playing second row for Hunslet.
Hardaker
Handley Watkins Moon Keinhorst/Golding
Sutcliffe McGuire
Cuthbertson Aiton Peacock
Ablett Ward
Sinfield
Burrow Singleton Achurch Delaney

Agree with this frosties, Out of the two Id prefer Golding to play on the wing he's got a lot more pace. Sounds as though Keinhorst is being prepared for a switch into the pack which may benefit him and us, we have quite a few good young backs with more coming trough. The pack maybe where he fits into our future squad IF he comes back!

| Based on Sundays performance, I'd be leaving Golding everytime, especially for this game, far too many errors, his positioning was way out defensively and attacking, it's all well and good saying stick him in he's got more pace, I know he's young but he was poor Sunday there's nothing else to say about it. Give keinhurst a go for my money, if not, stick Ablett in the centres and push moon out to the wing, we need a strong defensive performance if we have any chance of winning this game.

Would probably imagine it is for Golding on the wing. Unless Watkins still has some lingering effects of the illness that ruled him out 3 days ago but the club are hopeful he'll be fine in 48 hours time and Keinhorst is just lined up in case Watkins still isn't right?
With Keinhorst on the wing, he as a centre/second row would give you stronger runs early in the relieving sets than a lightweight Golding would.
Either way, whoever plays on our left wing looks to be up against a rookie on Saints' right wing, so it shouldn't be too concerning who plays there.

I'm not sure 2 games only, several weeks apart can be billed as "form".....especially considering most thought Golding did ok vs Warrington in a game where the whole team under performed.

| We need the strength of KIenhorst and his defensive quality compared to Goulding who is not yet physically matured. I don't see GOulding doing the donkey work that's required coming off our own line out of defence, the saints forwards will eat him for breakfast and spit him out. In time this kid will be a revelation at full back, he might have to wait a few years until HArdaker moves to stand off with the captains arm band! I fear for us Friday, because I don't feel we have clicked and played well for 80 minutes this season. Saints are very good in defence and very fast off the defensive line and at times bordering offside. Leeds are poor when a team get in their face and then lack the go forward as it was plain to see at Warrington. Our forwards are not as big as the SAints pack. To beat them we need to hold them in the middle and shift the ball quickly outside to Watkins and moon and this how we can get around saints IMO. Without Briscoe and Hall I feel the forwards workload will be increased further. Four tough games coming up that will shape our season and if we get two wins from these I will be very happy and feel confident we can finish in the two. Time will tell and we also need luck with injuries I guess.

| On what basis do you make that assumption? We're not talking about a small addition to someone's game. We're talking about someone who currently struggles to even look to pass the ball being able to develop into one of the key ball handlers in the team. He's not some 18-year old who will develop his game, he's 23. I'm struggling to recall a player in their mid 20s making that sort of switch.
Looking at leeds I'd say Rob Burrow still can't pass properly well over a decade after he started. McGuire has always had a good pass in him, even when he was primarily a runner. Sinfield has always had a passing game as he never had much of a running game. Going further back Schofield was a great winger's centre before he moved to stand off.
I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I still don't see Hardaker making stand off. I'm not even sure why you'd necessarily want him to either TBH - he's good at what he does from full back.

I have to agree with this, Hardakers main contribution has been the metres he's made this season, if he hadn't missed the Warrington game this season, he would undoubtably be the leader for metres made in the super league, you switch him to stand off and you've lost almost all that part of his game.

| I've never understood the thinking that Hardaker will eventually move into the halves. For all the improvement he has made as a player his passing has remained mediocre at best. Also, he's still relatively new to the FB role so IMO he should concentrate on becoming the best FB he can because that's the position that best suits his skill set. He doesn't have the skills of Lockyer, Davies or Pryce, or the organisational skills of someone like Edwards to be able to make a successful transition into the halves IMO
Golding, at 18, is much more likely to be able to move into the halves, and that's probably where he'll end up. I'm not sure it will be at Leeds though.

I thought that was a bit odd, they have a few out fair enough but so do we as all teams this time of year.Makinson at full back, hardly a shabby deputy and with Burns and Walsh back too in the halves they probably have there most creative options in almost a year!
Whatever the Sky boys try and tell us i would say Saints have the edge on paper going in.

I agree. However, I was speaking to Paul Anderson on Tuesday night, and he was scathing at getting beat by Saints at the weekend. Could not understand how Huddersfield lost, and said Saints were no great shakes.

I think that's always the case with Sky, most of the time they only ever seem to mention one team's injuries during the game, regardless of who's playing.
I wouldn't say we are favourites, i'd say you are marginally and i'd back you by <6. It's more to do with how you're playing and the fact that you're unbeaten in a while, whereas we've just won our first in 4 games, so I don't feel as confident as if we'd won that amount in a row.
