Seems Ava Seumanufagai is homesick and won’t be returning in the new year. His missus put a post on Instagram also about them not returning. Disappointing if true.

Wouldn't blame him. I'm not sure why anyone would want to leave Australia to come to the UK anytime soon.

I'd be inclined to blame him a bit if he were a professional sportsman who'd signed a contract.

That would be terrible news for the team. We already needed two props, one to replace Cuthbo and another to replace Crosby as we ran one light and with two “kids” playing regularly.



I suppose at least it would open up a quota spot, should anyone actually want to come over.

Hi pal this isn’t a great post. I know a couple of people who have died a lot younger than that from covid and they were perfectly healthy. There’s many many medical experts who would correct you here. But anyway this forum is not the place for that.

Whether there is risk or not, we're still likely to be locked down to some degree until at least spring. I wouldn't want to leave Australia in summer to come to the UK in winter and have to spend most of my time stuck in the house.

A lad who works for me, early thirties, accomplished runner, recently spent a week in hospital with Covid. Three weeks after he was released he can barely talk. Words fail me really.

If Seumanufagai is returning home it would be a blow for us he's been a solid signing and would have been good to keep him in our pack. On the up side if he is leaving it opens up another overseas spot for us which is why we might be rumoured to wanting two overseas prop such as Josh Mcguire and Andrew fifita we've been linked with. But if Seumanufagai does leave we definitely need 2 big middle players coming in for next season

A further thought on Ava. He’s under contract so surely he doesn’t leave unless we have a suitable replacement???

Oh I agree in principle, id be saying come back play and we can assess it if and when we can find a replacement, to just not come back would be a bit rubbish of him and us.

Just to add, the only way it would be ok is if we already know we have a replacement

Yeah agree totally. I’ve seen the social media post.. doesn’t look good but they’re may be more to it.. await club’s comments with interest. But it leaves us very very very short if true
