It’s actually commonplace to subsidise the wages of the player you want off your total cap.

We made a shocking mistake with Tui, and it was dealt with.

Rocks or diamonds Tui.

We were all over the shop defensively and it didn't help anyone we had Tui flying out of the line to tickle someone if he was lucky enough to get near them in the first place and wasn't wind milling fresh air.
With a more settled team around him, a willingness to accept that he's going to drop the odd clanger or two and some acceptance he is going to need plenty of help defensively hes a great player to have on the pitch. We weren't. / couldn't offer him that at the time as we stunk and stunk bad.

Thats before you add into the mix he shouldn't have been solely responsible for the whole attack as he was at ours. Hes a maverick and needs an organising half to do the donkey work and he can shine off the back of that, which was our problem as we didnt have anyone who could / would do the donkey work in the halfs until ironically we signed Lui. That was our problem all over, wanting someone else to do all the unglamourous / thankless work and just turn up for the backslapping.

All rocks, only diamonds was that interception at Wakey. Lazy actually dodged tackles, massively over weight for a pro player never mind a half, up there with our worst ever signings, I’d gave have gladly paid his airfare home, if we were still paying his wages this season in full at Salford it would still be good business. Yes last year we were in a whole and first step out off that hole was getting rid off that dollop.

All rocks for us, not for Salford, where once settled and adjusted began to contribute and got to a grand final (before anyone starts I know Jackson Hastings was the dominant half)

Im not defending his time at Leeds (I agree with a lot of what you are saying) but there's a player there and we couldn't coax that out, yet Salford / Watson could.

But my point still stands, at the time we had a team of players who just wouldn't graft and yes key among them at the time was Tui.

It holds about as much credence as us being linked with Takairangi. A centre, or second row, we dont need and probably arent even interested in.

He is the same size as Liam Watts, he could well do a job in the front row for us.
