I wonder how much Briscoe or Ferres rate him as a coach? Both arrived as top class internationals and now both look very ordinary.

I don't think Ferres is down to McDermott. The very stale conditioning might be part at fault, but the player himself certainly doesn't help.

Briscoe, probably a different matter.

Of course they did, and they were spot on correct. The things said were not what you say they were, instead what was said clearly was that McDermott would take the club backwards if he stayed in place. Exactly what has happened. Him removed then wouldn't have stopped 2015, but would have stopped 2016, and the uncertain future we currently have,

It wouldn't have stopped 2015? That's ridiculous to say a treble would still happen with any other random coach you could name. Let's not forget a new coach might've wanted to follow certain posters on here and tear apart the core of this team post trophy less 2013 or how the 2014 season finished post Wembley. McGuire was one in particular deemed past it and he won us the LLS with that kick through and MOM in the GF.

And a new coach....,would he have much of a different squad to work with? You're CLAIMING elsewhere that GH forces McDermott to pick certain players so what coach do you have in mind that would overrule GH on selection, signings and still win a treble???

They deserve criticism for losing a game.....yes but it happens and it wasn't as if the opposition played average, they lost to a very strong Hull performance. For all the criticisms of this team and coach they had beaten this team in all of the last 8 meetings before yesterday.

Got to give credit to Hull, they look a different beast in this cup competition in the last 2 seasons. Saints away, Wigan SF and Warrington F in 2016, runaway league leaders Cas and ourselves who they hadn't beaten since 2014 this year. They've just got a roll on in this competition lately and it's no shame or drama to be added to the list of defeated opponents.

They were plenty of 'Wane out' and squad overhauls thread the 24 hours after Wigan lost to Hull in last years SF from keyboard coaches who "saw this coming for years" yet didn't see a GF win a few weeks later.

An average coach who had the luxury of being surrounded by a once in a lifetime perfect storm of players. Last season showed exactly that. This season, the competition is as poor as in living memory where to be honest, no one but C*s have looked anything like a decent side.

I thought the killer blow was the try on the stroke of half time, that really hurt and i feared for us after that despite only 6 points in it.

Bottom line is although we still have a decent sqaud of players we are a shadow now of the side we were at the turn of the decade. Still in a great position though in SL and i wont be foolish enough to write us off from getting to OT and once there we will be a chance.

You weren't around here in the early days. Certain posters have been predicting our demise since the game against London in Perpignan in 2005! Other posters (some who have been wanting rid of McDermott for some time now) even laid all the credit for our success in the Smith years at McDermott's door. Those were the days.

It wasn't the defeat, Hull are the best squad in SL IMO, but the manner of it. Leeds showed absolutely no creativity in attack. It was like watching an amateur team where the better players tried things off their own bat. Otherwise it was standard fayre. I don't remember once where a move was orchestrated to isolate a defender & create an overlap. When they threw it wide on the last & created an overlap they panicked & cocked it up. Near the end fatty Ferres was 1 on 1 with the Hull winger, with 2 team mates outside him. He threw it back inside.
Hull in attack are equally as poorly coached. They had a group of better players who wanted it more & came up with some great pieces of individual brilliance.
