I hope it's 2 different players in addition to Griffin.

I've not read anywhere where the Guants have announced he us leaving/free to talk to other clubs and iirc he's still under contract to them for 2012 so I cannot see us announcing Griffin unless the Giants come out before then and say he's been released early from his contract?

They've allowed HKR to announce Hodgson before the Sept anti-tampering deadline so i would'nt be surprised to hear Griffin confirmed.

I thought Hodgson was out of contract the end of this season though and Giants had already confirmed a week or so ago that he was not being retained? In those curcumstances clubs are allowed to announce SL signings before September

I like conspiracy theories so IF the announcement of 2 signings is next Thursday....how about Murphy & Johnson from Wakey on the basis of Wakey being evicted from SL next Tuesday???

On the otherhand......given how things have/are going recently....the 2 signings might end up being Bailey & Ali

Signings over the last couple of years haven't been as successful as during our glory years. We seem to have been overtaken by clubs such as the Wolves and Wigan Warriers (even Huddersfield) who seem to be able to fit in more major, high profile recruits under the salary cap. Peter Smith in his article in the YEP last week said an Australian centre (hopefully not Tony Martin) is likely to be unveiled in the near future. Who?
I think that we only need a quality centre and second row/loose forward in addition to griffin to get back to the top again.
Season tickets for 2012 will be going on sale soon so GH needs to announce something as some quality signings will have an impact both on and off the field.
From what I've heard the Griffin signing will be announced later. If 2 signings are going to be announced next week they are in addition to Griffin. I don't know if they are from NRL or SL but I hope the're an improvement on last year!

Flanagan will go well at Sts IMO - from what I saw of him last season (when he played quite a few games for Wests) he has more to his game than tackling. He's not a powerful runner though, which IMO is what Leeds desperately need in terms of any new forwards.

As for centres, I hope we'll be pleasantly surprised by the signing, but recent history suggests it'll be somehwat underwhelming. We simply aren't likely to get a class NRL centre, and if we are looking at 'second tier' Aussies then Clubb may well be a better option.

Is it down to Caddìck not being a sugar daddy in the Moran/Davy/Lenaghan mould?

Do you have players whose image rights etc are being paid by "unconnected" third parties, as people allege regarding certain clubs? If not, is that part of the reason why you seem to be following Bradford down the road of "spending salary cap but squad worse than certain other clubs" route?

Not trying to take the pìss here - serious questions. Some clubs seem to have bottomless pockets - how is a matter of conjecture, but I have my own views.
I have always seen Leeds (under Darth, anyway) as a club that is run very professionally indeed, and always within its means.

We are worryingly getting like Bradford. Perhaps there are money problems at Leeds too? I wonder if the latest Headingley redevelopments might be having an impact on money available for players' salaries, transfer fees, or money to pay-off people who would be normally deemed surplus to requirements (like members of the coaching staff, perhaps...). But it is probably best to wait and see who the new signings are to be revealed next week - or indeed what the squad looks before the start of next season - before reading too much into this.
