Don't worry, the 'golden' signing will show his worth over the season - as a very average SL prop, which is what he was always going to be.

Sadly true. Two of our last three overseas signings - Delaney and Cross - have been virtually pointless IMO. Hauraki may well have been worth a punt as he did well for Crusaders last year, but Delaney and Cross have performed about as well as expected. Delaney was a regular but virtually anonymous centre ('solid' in the dour sense of the word) and Cross was a virtually anonymous irregular player.

Cross in particular I don't understand. If we rate Ambler and Amor at all, his spot should have been given to those two to fight over. If we don't, then we should have gone for LMS.

Marcus Bai, Ali Lauitiiti, Scott Donald, Mark O'Neill, Clinton Toopi, Kylie Leuluai, Brent Webb, Danny Buderus, Brett Delaney, Greg Eastwood, Ben Cross, Weller Hauraki.

Something of a mixed bag.

3 or 4 Decent ones. Ali's the best of the bunch by a long shot though. Even though he has been somewhat injury prone the last 2 years I still think we have had great value out of him and even at 75% he is better than the majority of 2nd rowers in the SL.

What happened to Furner ,Poching ,Dunneman and Mckenna?
All played during that era so don't they count?
