Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Thanks guys I have to get the last train out of Leeds to London which leaves at 20.40...may be a bit tight? What so you think?

Lets hope extra time is not involved - would suspect an early retreat maybe in order

Get a shuttle bus thats why there put on for to get you back into the centre after the game or to the ground before the game obviously.

Thanks. If I would have known there was a shuttle bus, how long the journey takes, where precisely it runs from, how often it runs and the specific ground to station journey times then you may be surprised to hear I wouldn't have posted a question on the fecking message board.

As for Mr Gledhill if Manly win and I am pressed for time strangely I may not hang around. If on the other hand Leeds win as we hope they will I will be staying to watch the trophy get lifted. However if Bradford win I will naturally eat my own nose and walk back to London carrying my son on my back.

The shuttle bus runs from the 'special bus station' at Elland Road, which is not far from the back of the massive East Stand (IIRC, it is sign posted). They have a stack of buses waiting and load them up as soon as people arrive.

As has already been mentioned, the problem is what happens with them in the traffic after the match is a problem, so you're left with facing the dilema of seeing the end of the game or leaving a couple of minutes early to make sure you make it before the majority of the crowd do.

The other option if time is tight, is rather than get a taxi to collect you from the ground, is to get it to pick you up at a strategic location fairly close to the stadium, with a hope of getting a jump on the traffic. You need a trusting / clued-up cabbie to really be able to pull it off. The places I'd consider for such an operation is the end of Lowfields Road on the opposite side of the M621 or maybe back up towards Holbeck, over the other side of the footbridge over the motorway ?

Any other suggestions ?

Last years traffic situation may have been worsened due to the game being on a Friday night. I hope so anyway as last year the busses were emptied on the M621 for fear of missing the game. Not wanting to be stuck on a bus going back we walked as it had briefly stopped raining! That didn't last for long...... :(

A genuine thanks for all the constuctive advice. I decided in the end to take my car based mainly on the fears of traffic stopping us getting to station by bus and my dodgy knees making it a really difficult walk from the ground to the station. Didn't think I could risk it with my lad having to get to school on Monday morning.

Trip there and back was absolutely fine with very little traffic on the M1. Thought it was a really good game - dissappointed with the result but thought Manly were excellent - great hands, speed, power and vision and we certainly didn't disgrace ourselves. Clearly there is a skills & ability gap but nor so huge that we can't compete.
