The shuttle bus runs from the 'special bus station' at Elland Road, which is not far from the back of the massive East Stand (IIRC, it is sign posted). They have a stack of buses waiting and load them up as soon as people arrive.
As has already been mentioned, the problem is what happens with them in the traffic after the match is a problem, so you're left with facing the dilema of seeing the end of the game or leaving a couple of minutes early to make sure you make it before the majority of the crowd do.
The other option if time is tight, is rather than get a taxi to collect you from the ground, is to get it to pick you up at a strategic location fairly close to the stadium, with a hope of getting a jump on the traffic. You need a trusting / clued-up cabbie to really be able to pull it off. The places I'd consider for such an operation is the end of Lowfields Road on the opposite side of the M621 or maybe back up towards Holbeck, over the other side of the footbridge over the motorway ?
Any other suggestions ?
