McLelland needs some more time, Myler was tried at half back and didn’t cut it, Broadbent is a centre for me (although he might have skill set for SO).

You’ve got to look at who our competition has in the halves and think - we need not only someone as good as that, but better.

Given the Myler/Walker situation at fullback could anyone see a time when Walker is given a go at 6 as a way of getting him in the starting team IF Myler at full back is going to be the plan into next season as well.

Granted he doesn’t yet have the passing game for a top full back so he wouldn’t have it for 6 either but he would bring some pace and elusive running ability at 6 which Lui doesn’t offer

I dont mention the options because I rate them highly. I'm just not sure how in a salary capped sport we can add to our half back options without shifting people out first.

Out of interest is anybody aware of a out of contract /unsettled stand off either in the UK or the NRL who is available? I'd like a new pacy six too, but such players come at a premium. Moving on Lui, who is contracted for another two years, will not be cheap or easy. I suspect we are fans are going to be frustrated on this one. I think the club are backing Long to get a lot more out of both Lui and McLelland. He'll need to if we are going to challenge Saints and Wigan for the title next year.

There are no decent OOC stand off in either, maybe josh reynolds but doubt it. Also McLelland is more a 7 than 6 so dont expect him to be in the run out squad until Gale retires. If I were Leeds, make a play for McLellands pal jake trueman, would do nicely!

Lockers retiring at the end of the season.fair bit of cap space there for wigan to play with next year.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when Newman is back. Defensively, Hurrell has shown he's more comfortable on the right, both for us and Tonga. Does anyone know if Newman has played at left before?

To my knowledge Newman played nothing but left centre both in the academy and at Featherstone. I think he's a more natural player in that position and hope we stick with Hurrell right and Harry left next season.

So the link with Fifita gets stronger but now Korbyn Sims aswell. I’m not sold in that one, we need a big, powerful, line punching prop and he isn’t that, he’s more like a Prior, good but not what we need. At least the interest is there I suppose.
