Upping the size of the squad at Leeds means including more juniors not more senior players in key positions. Leeds have a centre playing at stand off what does that say about the depth of the squad
I have no objection to playing juniors in senior squad...I was all for Walker been included to play in SL this season ( glad it came earlier than anticipated) he was refreshing to watch n a bright moment on a gloomy night...It makes sense to bed junior players with the seniors helps them gain experience be it good or bad, speeds up learning curve so IF n when they take up the mantle they are fully prepared...But I still think we need even more players..btw think U19s last season had nearly as many players injured as senior squad at one point.
We were also playing with players who are still not at their fittest...Handley, Ward, Delaney ...Mullally was suppose to have cracked a rib but then have heard of players playing with that for whole season before got surgery.
I would not bet on it but IF squad don't have anymore games like last night would also hope for one of the trophies...However after this season even if a few senior players still hanker after more glory..which is half admirable..would hope they would call it a day...So going back to thread..if Mac goes...whoever comes in would not expect any major success for at least 3 years.
