the only thing I keep hearing is we are skint. last person who said it was the main sponser of another club. couldn't tell you if its true but wouldn't surprise me, given the weak squad and recruitment, if it was

That would explain the lack of quality recruitment and if this is the case it certainly must have made the coaches job harder. If we are skint then is it because of funding Yorkshire Carnegie directors with £700k of interest free loans?

I assume the 700k is just a way of Caddick getting money out of the club - he did own Carnegie I think.

The club has become flabby - too many administrators, coaches etc. it has lost its focus.

There's nothing to suggest the club is skint. But more that the club knows they are about to undertake a massive expenditure. If done right it will safeguard the club's existence and independence for the next 30+ years. If done wrongly it could put that existence and independence at risk.

As I've said before, I think many people are underestimating just how much of an expense they are. In comparison it would be akin to a company like Tesco's spending approx £80bn on 1 project. It is a huge project for Leeds.

A bit of caution from the club isn't really amiss in my opinion.

maybe. but having the best ground in the championship won't be much good. can we really not afford to spend the full cap?
and i'm not having it that we are anywhere near it despite any contract extentions etc

If we are skint then some people need investigating.
We are one of if not the best run clubs in SL.
We have had the best attendances than most other teams.
We have spent little on recruitment over the years and lost several top earners.
I doubt we are anywhere near the full cap entitlement.
So where has the money gone?
If true then there`s not much hope for other teams in SL.
It has got to be sometihng else?

I fail to see how Yorkshire Carnegie are self funding.
They have a larger squad (although doubtful on the same earnings as the Rhinos players) and only receive £550,000 in central funding.
Allied to meagre income from the small attendances maybe that is part of the explanation where the money goes.
