Hips went beyond the horizontal, if only briefly. It was the correct decision and we've seen yellow cards given for similar dangerous tackles during the season so the consistency is there as well. I imagine Eden stayed down for a bit because it probably hurt. The severity of an injury (or lack of) should have no bearing on the punishment. The potential was there to injure the player.
No they didn't ,Eden kicks his legs up before Watkins puts him on his back not even a penalty.
Eden could have landed on his head if he didn't correct himself before he hits the floor. Maybe he should have landed on his head and Watkins then gets a red.

In one sentence, sums up how blinkered some people are, when it's their team the decision goes against. It was the correct decision, and he got most of them right last night, with the exception of the penalty that gave Leeds 2 points at the start and he missed Watkins' knock on, but then that was only obvious after TV replays.
The crowd booed because they probably saw the replay, saw he didn't get the ball down straight away and turned to shoot at the reg whilst the video shows him grounding at the third attempt
In the modern game it was a penalty and a card and the ref was correct. Eden was put in a dangerous position. It wasnt malicious in any way but that's how the sport is now.
I've no idea why the crowd was going crazy about the try. It was clearly a try.
Watched it back, thought Ava, Peteru, Oledski went pretty well in the pack, really like Avas defence, he was known as a good defender in the NRL and its clear to see why imo.
Newman and Handley also very good with no decent ball.
In honesty though, even if the other 15 players play well, your going to struggle to win a game when you'v got 2 players as bad as Myler and Watkins were, especially when theyr your experienced half and your captain. They were beyond shocking, thats all im going to say on Watkins because we all know the probable reasons. Myler though, its got to be one of the worst halfback performances iv ever seen, absolute garbage, 6 missed tackles to pad his already league leading stats, horrendous kicking game which gave them 7 tackle sets time and again, no structure, control, intelligence whatsoever...Complete and utter disgrace, He'd be the first one out the door for me. Our pack gets its share of criticism and the saying goes a half cant play behind a beaten pack, but it works both ways. A pack can look a lot better if theyr working off a couple of repeat attacking sets rather than defending multiple 7 tackle sets, the difference there is staggering, id be suprised if we'r not bottom of the league in repeat sets gained, good halfs get you them, Myler does the opposite.

Yeah well said. Hes looked ok at times myler but he looks shot to pieces now. If we are to avoid relegation he needs to step up his game big time or replace him this season.

Not blinkered at all Watkins squared him up and tackled him Eden clearly kicks his legs out and lands fine no pile driver no dump tackle at all.
Going forward yes, but again surely people can not ignore defence. I am not saying it is a reason he should be in, but 43 tackles and 2 misses is a hell of a work load to take out of the team, when it appears his replacements can’t match that level. If you meant Singleton.
You can ignore defence if it's JJB we'discussing
Singleton works hard in defence, but he doesn't hit very hard (unless it's a shoulder charge, and he never wins a collusion with or without the ball. He's not progressed since making his debut, and he seems to be losing power and physicality instead of adding it. I was always willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because I assumed he would develop and grow into a big, athletic prop, but he looks like he's never been in a weight room!
