Larry has said he should have a central midfielder in by the weekend on loan to cover for Johnson although Johnson only has a one game ban. Hopefully he's planning on dropping Johnson for a while and getting someone in who's a bit more defensive although i doubt either will happen, the loan signing will be someone like Michael Johnson from Man City who's not the most defensive either.
We concede far too many goals to win promotion and we've done great to be where we are with the goals conceded. The blame cant just go on the defence, they dont get much protection from the midfield and without that your always gonna let loads of goals in. I've said all along, as have others, Howson and Johnson should not be playing together in midfield, neither can tackle and both are lightweight in there and get out muscled. We've been crying out for some steel in there all season but Larry just wont do anything about it, he wont drop Johnson or Howson for any games at all if anyone misses out it's Kilkenny. If he's gonna play with no real defensive players in midfield then why not start with Somma alongside Becchio. Somma is scoring plenty and surely deserves to start just on goals scored.
Even if we beat Swansea at the weekend with Somma starting for Johnson he'll still drop Somma the game after and put Johnson back in, i wish someone would of bought Johnson in January. I dont see what Larry see's in him to make him a starter every single game. The midfield need to work harder on getting back and making us hard to score against, we've had loads of defenders and it happens to them all no matter who plays so the problem must be elsewhere.
Still dont think we've won on any other day than 3pm on a saturday in the league. Play Swansea at 12.45 on saturday so that means a draw or a loss.
