I don't see us singing a starting prop until prior and Tet leave.I do hope we sign Leon Ruan .If so that gives us Tet prior Oledzki Holroyd Sangare Walters Ruan.

Smith is working with the cap he has available and the atarting 13 will be where the majority of the money is tied up. Without anybody leaving you cannot bring in a replacement at that level.
We have added Hardaker who definitely starts every week for me. In terms of the squad we will have released Briscoe Dwyer Mellor Thompson Sutcliffe Broadbent and Mustapha. Add in Walker if he had not got injured and we would have in one season cleared out most of the filler in the squad and replaced it with young players with the potential to develop and also added more genuine size. How the new guys develop will be the measure of Smith as a coach. The really interesting recruitment will be 2024 when the majority of the current starting 13 contract money becomes available and that is when we should be contending right at the top.

Ruan is a done deal. Two year contract with an option of a third is what I was told.

I guess the biggest issues/unknowns are Hooley and MacDonald, assuming Ruan and Olpherts have actually signed. Hooley may be dependent on Walker, although I'd be surprised if Walker wasn't out on loan most of next season if he gets fit and can't see him here in 2024.

That`s true we need 4 good props with maybe 2 project props.
2 plus 4 projects is far too risky.
Mulhern would be an ideal start.

Exactly Chapy.
No problem having 2 or 3 projects.
But they shouldn't be part of the 4 rotation.
They should be back up for injuries and suspensions to get some game time and experience.
We've made a mistake carrying Holroyd as part of the 4. He should be 5th or 6th.
Hope we're not doing the same with Sangare.

We might have to wait another year for the cavalry to arrive, but until it does we will have to consistently punch above our weight to be a top 4 team. I’m sure that with a full pre season RS can get more out of the players, but he can’t turn them into world beaters without more quality in the starting line up. We’ve had a pretty big chunk of cap freed this year, and even more next. We should be right back up there in 2024.

Why the obsession with Mulhern? He's been dumped by Warrington because he is part of a front row that's been regularly overpowered. Why would he help us avoid that?

Tet and Prior are the problem more than Holroyds issues or Sangare/ Ruan etc.

Both Tet and Prior have had multiple bans. Prior looks done. I hope the time off/ pre season and Sangare/etc means he can play less but accomplish more.

Tet has been poor. Banned more games than he's played and other than one or two good spells has been out performed by Mik and many others.

We can probably hover around the middle of the table with what we have but until we replace Tet and Prior with two starting props we will struggle for top 4,nevermind look strong going into play offs/ Trophy territory
